There is a bill pending in the Arizona legislature that is trying to protect seniors, but is being stalled in the Senate Rules Committee. The bill, HB 2627, was introduced by Representative Ted Downing. The bill is designed to remove the exceptions of securities dealers and insurance agents from the protections against financial exploitation of vulnerable and incapacitated adults provided by Arizona Revised Statute 46-456. The Chairman of the Rules committee is Litchfield Park's Senator Blendu. If you are committed to protecting senior and vulnerable adults, please contact Mr. Blendu's office at (602) 926-5955 and request that his committee hear this bill. The bill passed the House 55-0. Do not allow stockbrokers and insurance agents to be shielded from the protections the legislature has provided senior adults. Please contact me if you have any questions.
